Ulladulla
& Districts Blessing of the Fleet Festival -
Easter
The
Blessing of the Fleet is an old and revered tradition
which has been passed down from generation to generation
originating in Sicily and as ancient as biblical times.
This centuries old Italian rite calls on divine
providence to safeguard ships and crews from the danger
of the seas
Ulladullas Italian communitys traditional
ceremony of blessing the Ulladulla is on Easter Sunday at
12.30pm from the harbour foreshores under the watchful
eye of St Peter, the Patron Saint of the fisherman and
the festival princesses.
