Princess Ball 2013

Shoalhaven City Council has moved to allow the Milton/Ulladulla Rotary Club use of the Ulladulla Civic Centre for the Blessing of the Fleet Ball to be held in March 2013. Princess Blessing of the Fleet BallThis means the Blessing of the Fleet can allow more Princesses for the 2013 Festival. And giving the Festival more floats for the Parade. With no fixed date having been set for the commencement of planned upgrade works on the Civic Centre, Council voted to allow the group use of the facility during next year’s Blessing of the Fleet celebrations. Mayor, Joanna Gash, who recommended the group’s continuing use of the facility as part of her inaugural Mayoral Minute, said she was pleased to be able to assist the iconic Blessing of the Fleet Festival. “The Blessing of the Fleet Festival Ball is one of the most popular and well attended events of the entire festival,” said Clr Gash. Sally Lewis and Emily Quinn 2011“Providing an opportunity for local residents to gather and celebrate, the ball is certainly a highlight on the annual Shoalhaven City social calendar. “With no other local facilities able to provide for the large number of expected attendees, Council has moved to allow the Milton/Ulladulla Rotary Club use of the Ulladulla Civic Centre for the 2013 Blessing of the Fleet Ball, especially given there is no set starting date for the centre’s planned upgrade works .”

“The Blessing of the Fleet Festival provides the entire area with an annual economic boost through increased tourism and local patronage and as such Councils is certainly happy to support this iconic event.” The 2013 Princess Ball will be held at the Ulladulla Civic Centre on Saturday 16 March 2013.
