Blessing Ceremony

St Peter Patron saint Blessing of the FleetThe Blessing of the Fleet is an old and revered tradition which has been passed down from generation to generation originating in Sicily and as ancient as biblical times. This centuries old Italian rite calls on divine providence to safeguard our ships and crews from the danger of the seas.

Ulladulla’s Italian community’s traditional ceremony of blessing the Ulladulla Fishing Fleet is on Easter Sunday at 1.00pm from the harbour foreshores under the watchful eye of St Peter, the Patron Saint of the fisherman and the festival princesses. Sponsored by the Ulladulla Fishermans Co-Op
