2020 Princess Ball to Go Ahead – New Venue & Format.

2020 Princess Ball to Go Ahead – New Venue & Format.

Plans are underway to have a special dinner event at the Dunn Lewis auditorium Tuesday, 8th December, 2020, to allow the crowning of this year’s Princess of the Fleet and the two runners ups.

The event is in it’s early planning stages, but will comprise of a sit down two course meal with Princesses, their partners, a couple of guests each, some dignitaries and members of the Rotary Club of Milton-Ulladulla (the organising body).

Due to covid19 restrictions, there will be no dancing, which is normally a large part of the ceremony.

The auditorium of the Dunn Lewis Centre, Ulladulla was chosen due to it’s ability to fit 300 seated guests, allowing for the current 4 metre square rule.

The event however, will give the young ladies an opportunity to come together and wear their gorgeous gowns.

Tickets are available online, with two guests per Princess and partner able to attend.

Ulladulla Blessing of the Fleet Princesses have something to Smile About.

Some great news for the Princesses, partners and their families, as well as for the community.

A special formal is being organised in the eleventh hour, with the Horizon Bank Ulladulla supporting the event as Gold sponsors for the umpteenth year in a row.

A date has been set for Tuesday, 8th December, 7pm for 7:30pm start.

Due to easing of covid restrictions on gatherings, we are able to accommodate up to 300 seated guests inside the new gigantic auditorium of the Dunn Lewis Centre Ulladulla ,with the 4 metre square rule.

Princesses and their partners are permitted to have two special guests each. Of course it’s going to largely be parents.

It’s an opportunity for the Princesses and partners to be formally introduced and an occasion to crown the Princess of the Fleet for 2020 and the first and second runner up.

The event will be staggered, with guests arriving at 7pm and Princesses and partners at 7:30pm.

2019 Princess of the Fleet, Madelyn Woods and her partner will be special guests on the evening and will introduce the Princesses and their partners.

The announcement of the Princess of the Fleet will be live streamed to the Ulladulla Blessing of the Fleet Festival Facebook page.

There will be photo opportunities for the Princesses on the night.

The Princess Ball 2019.

The 2019 Horizon Blessing of the Fleet, Princess Ball went off without a hitch Saturday the 6th of April and many are saying it was the best one yet!

Ball Chairperson Brian Morrison coordinated this spectacular event with the assistance of the Ball committee. Members of this committee come from the Rotary Club of Milton Ulladulla, the Milton Ulladulla Lions Club, as well as parents in the community.

A lot of time and energy goes into planning this progressive event, the Ball itself just one part of the proceedings, with Princesses and their partners attending dance classes each Sunday for over a month leading up to the Ball. Local Legend Gaven Dorrell, along with the lovely Marise Cornock, kindly donate their time to teach the young ladies and their partners several dances.

The Princesses source their own sponsors, attend deportment classes with Robin Phillips and a series of interviews by a judging panel.

On the night the Ulladulla Civic Centre was decorated beautifully with drapery, fairy lights, feathered table features with blue accents and a gorgeous entry arbor covered in vines. The atmosphere was electric with three hundred and twenty people expectant for the night’s processions. Twenty three Princesses and their partner’s were amongst the crowd of Dignitaries, Sponsors and Family.

Radio 2ST personality Graeme Day hosted the evening with his usual nostalgic humour, having been involved in emceeing the Princess Ball since the early eighties.

Ball Guests were treated to a three course meal from local Eatery Tallwood.

DJ Mystergio, (Gio Puglisi) had the crowd up on the dance floor enjoying the night.

Ball Chairperson Brian Morrison announced that the Blessing of the Fleet Festival Chairperson of the past eleven years, Phil Brown would be stepping down after this year. Phil was recognised and acknowledged for the thousands of hours of community service in organising such a massive undertaking.

Captain Fiona Sneath, HMAS Albatross greeted each Princess, with their Partner and presented the Runners up and Winning Princess of the Fleet.

Second Runner up was presented to Jet Boone. Partnered by Gaige Saunders. Sponsored by Forkliftcenter.

First Runner up was awarded to Charlie Guise. Charlie was partnered by Zac Eggins and sponsored by One Agency.

The Winning Princess, crowned the 2019 Princess of the Fleet, was Madalyn Woods. Madalyn was partnered by Blake Thistleton and sponsored by the Milton Ulladulla Ex Servos Club.
