Applications NOW OPEN for Ulladulla’s 2021 Blessing of the Fleet Princesses

Applications NOW OPEN for Ulladulla’s 2021 Blessing of the Fleet Princesses

Applications are now open for the 2021 Princesses!

Covid19 will not dampen the Ulladulla Blessing of the Fleet Princess Ball this year, with dancing high on the agenda.

Princesses and Partners will get to participate in the usual dancing and deportment lessons leading into the Ball.

Last year, a scaled down Formal was hosted for the Princesses, with none of the ballroom dances featured on the night and a smaller guest list.

“The laws changed the day before the 2020 formal, which allowed 50 people on a dance floor. At least the Princesses and their partners got to do that.” Said Festival Chair Leonie Corrin-Smith.

“This year we have a new Ball Chairperson in Rotarian Clare Nyholm. She is well into the planning of the special event.”

Clare takes over from Rotarian Brain Morrison, who held the position for 12 years.

“I’m really excited for the return of the Ball in it’s traditional format.” Said Clare. “It’s a rite of passage for girls in this town…A long cherished tradition.”

A private Blessing Ceremony was held on Easter Sunday this year, without the usual Festival and Street Parade.

Applications are open now for 2021 Princesses.

Numbers will be capped at 50 due to Covid19 regulations on numbers inside a venue.

2021 Ulladulla Blessing of the Fleet Princess Ball

The Ulladulla Blessing of the Fleet Princess Ball 2021.

SAVE THE DATE: Saturday 13th November.

The 2021 Ulladulla Blessing of the Fleet Princess Ball has been scheduled for Saturday the 13th November.

The ball will be held at the Civic Centre, Ulladulla and promises to be a dazzling evening, with the return of dancing.

“We look forward to assisting the year 10 students to participate in a traditional event that many of them would have considered the Blessing of the Fleet Ball as a rite of passage. These girls have been looking forward to wearing a tiara and sash since they were little girls. We are excited to help maintain the tradition but also create a wonderful memory for the entrants and their families.” Clare Nyholm, Ball Chair.

Due to Covid regulations on amount of people allowed in a venue, Princess numbers will be capped at 50.
